The world’s first and only official Game of Thrones Studio Tour is offering a giant Northern Ireland welcome to fans of the show this springtime – and something for everyone whether they have watched the record-breaking HBO TV series or not.
Located 40 minutes from Belfast at Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge, County Down, where many key moments and a significant proportion of the show’s Northern Ireland-based filming took place, the tour reveals the world of Westeros as never before.
Bringing an epic new style of attraction to Northern Ireland, the Game of Thrones Studio Tour is packed with the famous sets of King’s Landing, Winterfell, Dragonstone, The Wall and beyond. Fans can also delve into incredible props, weaponry, and the show’s visual effects, and learn more about the skills and craftmanship that brought the TV show to life on screen.
At over 100,000 sq ft, the immersive, interactive experience evokes the show’s huge scale. The interactivity enables tour goers to star in their own new Game of Thrones® adventure. Featuring a world of heroes, villains, giants and dragons, fan and ‘Thrones’ newbies alike can enter a land of ice and fire where kings and queens do battle, and weekend warriors become knights of the realm.
Some of the show’s main cast have already experienced what the tour has to offer, including Natalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Kristian Nairn (Hodor) and Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran). Ian McElhinney (Ser Barristan Selmy), Natalia Tena (Osha) and Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne) have also relived the remarkable 10 years of filming Game of Thrones® in Northern Ireland.
Belfast-born Ian Beattie, whose villainous character Ser Meryn Trant was a knight of the Kingsguard in the Emmy-award winning show has also dropped in. He says visitors will be “blown away” by the experience.
