Relax, unwind and reconnect with nature on the perfect country estate in Northern Ireland.
For those dreaming of a family escape to the country, a place where you’ll find utter tranquillity, privacy and the chance to interact with all creatures great and small, Blessingbourne Country Estate is the place to be.
Just as soon as it is safe to travel again, a special welcome will await at the home of Colleen and Nicholas Lowry. Their beautiful, historic and expansive 550-acre country estate and working farm is nestled in the heart of woodlands and lakes on the edge of the scenic Clogher Valley in County Tyrone.
Close to the stunning Fermanagh lakelands and within walking distance of the homely village of Fivemiletown, Blessingbourne is one of the most idyllic country escapes imaginable.
Its five-star accommodation features a collection of self-catering courtyard apartments as well as a luxury gate lodge, and as a specialist in family breaks Blessingbourne can even provide a home for your pet – any animal from a hamster to a horse is welcome to stay over.
Meeting the animals on the estate’s working farm will be a highlight for children and adults alike, as you will be free to get up close to dairy cows, horses, ponies, goats, peacocks, chickens, roosters as well as the Lowry’s pet dogs and cats.
Brimming with things to see and do, Blessingbourne also provides numerous activities such as walking, cycling, coarse fishing and pony trekking to dip into on site. The whole family can also step back in time in the estate’s Carriage & Costume Museum, home to a unique collection of original carriages and coaches, buggies, penny farthings, a genuine Romany caravan, old farm machinery and even a UN helicopter.
Blessingbourne was one of the first mountain biking venues to open in Northern Ireland and its blend of pump track, skills area and 13km of trails puts it in the premier league of MTB facilities.
With a full fleet of bikes and helmets available for hire if you can’t bring your own, the trails will offer hours of enjoyment, whether you are a complete beginner or a family searching for that adrenaline fix.
With the lure of the lakes of Fermanagh nearby, you can easily swap two wheels for a host of water based activities such as canoeing, sailing or a cruise around Lough Erne.
And 20 minutes away, in the heart of the lakelands is Ireland’s only island town, Enniskillen, peppered with a great collection of shops, restaurants, bars, parks, historic sites, a cinema and the Ardhowen Theatre.
You won’t want to leave the joys of the Blessingbourne Estate, but if you do popular attractions close by include Enniskillen Castle, Belleek Pottery and the National Trust properties of Florence Court House and Castle Coole.
