Due to open in 2021, the interactive Game of Thrones Studio Tour in Linen Mill Studios, Banbridge, will bring fans face-to-face with authentic, original set pieces, props and weapons used to create the worlds of the fantasy blockbuster.
Developed under licence with Warner Brothers Consumer Products, the studio tour will be the only permanent officially licensed Game of Thrones experience in the world.
The tour will feature a compelling mix of behind-the-scenes insights, interactive elements and expansive, fully dressed sets. Visitors will have the opportunity to wander through authentic set pieces from some of the show’s most iconic scenes, walking in the footsteps of Westeros’s most prominent residents.
The deeply immersive and sensory experience will evoke the show’s magnificence from King’s Landing, Winterfell, Dragonstone, The Wall and the lands beyond, to kingdoms across the Narrow Sea like Mereen and Braavos. The centre piece of the legacy tour will be the great hall of Winterfell.
The tour will also feature a first-of-its-kind collection of informative displays highlighting the craftsmanship and artistry of the creative teams who brought the epic series to life. Information about production design and the art department workshops will enhance the visitor experience along with an interactive costume department station, and displays about make-up and prosthetics, the armoury, and others.
Linen Mill Studios, located midway between Belfast and Dublin, was one of the key production sites for the global television phenomenon, which was shot largely in Northern Ireland, primarily in Titanic Studios Belfast and on location in counties Antrim and Down.
