Five new distilleries have been added to the latest edition of the Gin Distillery Map of the Island of Ireland.
Developed by Tourism Ireland, and offering offer the ultimate in gin jaunts and gin experiences, the updated infographic-style map now features the locations of 27 distilleries making the botanical spirit around the island.
As essential as it is handy to gin afficionados, the map is ideal for those wishing to plan out itineraries, design road trips and explore the burgeoning Irish gin scene.
The new arrivals on the island’s small batch gin scene include Woodlab Distillery, home to the award-winning Symphonia Gin range. Situated in County Tyrone in Northern Ireland, the distillery is now ready to welcome you on a tour. Discover how science turns to art as the various local flavours are carefully balanced to make a series of unique compositions.
Also listed on the updated map are three new additions to the County Cork gin scene. Among them is Blacks Brewery and Distillery, standing proud in the scenic town of Kinsale on the Wild Atlantic Way. Ireland’s first co-located brewery and distillery features Blacks Gin, a modern Irish gin refreshingly balanced with citrus and spice.
In Cork city, Ballyvolane House Spirits Company is building a reputation for its Bertha's Revenge Irish milk gin, which is distilled using whey alcohol in place of the traditional grain alcohol, as well as spring water and 18 locally grown and foraged botanicals. Meanwhile, Maharani gin from the Rebel City Distillery is zested with pomelo and uniquely spiced with cassia and nutmeg mace, all sourced from an organic farming co-operative in Kerala, India, home of the distillery’s founder.
