An historic pub in Belfast has been brought back to its original name and reinvented as the city centre’s first modern brewpub.
The Deer’s Head in Belfast goes back to its rootsThe Deer's Head in Lower Garfield Street is a traditional saloon bar, now featuring a fully operational and visually striking craft brewery on display behind glass in the middle of the premises.
Step into the bar and you can watch the entire workings of Bell’s Brewery up-close and personal from the comfort of your seat.
The newly renovated bar is steeped in tradition, with the origins of Bell’s Brewery dating back to 1778 when founder John Bell operated one of the first-known commercial breweries in Belfast that helped kickstart the beer revolution in the city.
Lower Garfield Street was once known as Bell’s Lane in his honour and The Deer’s Head owners are passionate about reviving what was once the city’s thriving brewery quarter.
The iconic building has nods to its history painted across its walls, and complete with top notch Brewiks micro-brewery equipment, offers an authentic craft beer experience you can see, smell and taste.
The Historic Saloon Bar
On brew days you will be able to enjoy the aroma of the malt being mashed and the hops being added to the boil as you immerse yourself in this new experience of beer born and brewed in Belfast.
With rotating specials, an unparalleled selection of beers and a core range that includes North Star Lager, Black Bull Stout and Monkey Shaving the Goat IPA, The Deer’s Head is the perfect Belfast city centre destination for any beer enthusiast.
Tasting flights are also available to sample all of the beers, offering the perfect opportunity for anyone to explore the world of craft beer for the first time.
Upstairs, you'll find The Deer’s Head Music Hall, a 200-capacity venue showcasing everything from local blues artists to popular touring bands from the UK, Ireland and beyond.
Here you can enjoy live music every week from the best local talents, with a hugely popular ukulele jam every Wednesday and a traditional Irish music session on a Friday.
