The ISPS HANDA World Invitational, to be played at the prestigious Galgorm Castle and Massereene golf clubs from 10 – 14 August, provides a rare opportunity to watch golf’s top male and female players competing at the same time.
With 132 men and 132 women playing simultaneously on the same courses for equal prize funds of US $1.5 million each, the event is at the forefront of innovation in the modern game.
The ISPS HANDA World Invitational also stands out as the only tri-sanctioned event in the northern hemisphere where the DP World Tour, LPGA Tour and LET (Ladies European Tour) come together in an inclusive mixed event.
Northern Ireland is making the final preparations to give its famous giant welcome to the Ryder Cup players, multiple tour winners, former Irish Open champions and rising stars who will be among the international fields in both tournaments.
In the women’s field, there is sure to be great support for home-grown heroes Leona Maguire, Ireland’s first-ever winner on the LPGA Tour, and Northern Ireland’s Stephanie Meadow, who won the 2019 edition of the ISPS HANDA event.
The tournament will also feature the G4D Tour, which brings together the world’s best golfers with disabilities, including World Disability Invitational Tournament Ambassador Brendan Lawlor.
