“Reflecting on the past year, we began 2022 with tight restrictions and much uncertainty on the return of international travel. Now, we are celebrating a global award for our beer tour experience and launching our ‘Welcome Home’ Christmas campaign to friends and families around the world and closer to home who will visit the Guinness Storehouse this winter.
“Despite the challenges we continue to face, there is much to be positive about and I know that the creativity and tenacity that exists within our industry will drive us all to recover and emerge stronger. Congratulations to our fellow Irish winner the Convention Centre Dublin and all those shortlisted in the awards.”
Niall Gibbons, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland, said:
“Congratulations to the Guinness Storehouse on being named the World’s Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience 2022 at the World Travel Awards. It is a truly well-deserved accolade and testament to the hard work of the staff.
“Overseas visitors regularly tell us that their holiday in Ireland has surpassed their expectations and a visit to Guinness Storehouse is certainly a ‘must see’ now on everyone’s itinerary. This latest award will give Tourism Ireland another wonderful opportunity to continue to highlight Dublin and Ireland as a world-class destination.
“We look forward to continuing to work closely with the team at the Guinness Storehouse, as we welcome back our overseas visitors, coming to experience all that the Guinness Storehouse and our great city of Dublin have to offer.”
Prior to the pandemic, the Guinness Storehouse welcomed up to 1.7 million visitors per year at the Dublin-based visitor experience. Since reopening in July 2021, the Home of Guinness has been welcoming back visitors from all over the world and has become increasingly popular with domestic visitors due to its renewed focus on showcasing the best of Irish culture to all who come through the famous black gates.
In this time the Home of Guinness has collaborated with Creatives Against Covid, Other Voices, Aches, Annie Atkins, Niall Horan, Lewis Capaldi and more. This Christmas will see the Guinness Storehouse partner with world renowned Irish visual artist, GRIF, who will curate a multi-media art installation, running 23rd November to 6th January, under the theme ‘Welcome Home’.
