Glorious seaside treats await visitors to the 2022 Howth Maritime and Seafood Festival this coming September. Formerly the Dublin Bay Prawn Festival this evolving festival showcases Howth and all that it has to offer in terms of food, activities, stunning landscape, culture and heritage.
The Howth Maritime and Seafood Festival is the ultimate celebration of Irish seafood.
Howth’s fine restaurants, bars and cafés host a variety of amazing food experiences at the event serving the freshest, most delicious seafood, cooked every way imaginable, including a selection of special Dublin Bay Prawn dishes.
It’s not just the culinary offerings that make the festival so memorable, the Howth Maritime and Seafood Festival is also famous for music & entertainment, walks, dancing and seaside antics. As the sun goes down Howth Castle will be the backdrop to 2 evening concerts featuring the Hothouse Flowers and the Hothouse Big Band.
The festival has grown to showcase the huge diversity of history, culture and activities that are the fabric of this seaside village. There will be music aplenty with a number of bandstands along the promenade, along with plethora of local artisans on hand to display their wares.. Fingal County Council will host the Howth Village Marquee, showcasing the latitude and diversity of what Howth and surrounding areas have to offer. For the young and young at heart, there will be sailing and watersports demonstrations along the pier.
