Ireland is open for business, and the time to press that ‘Green Button’ is now! That was the message behind Travelzoo’s recent Facebook program, “Rediscovering Ireland,” produced by Travelzoo’s senior editor, Gabe Saglie, and Irish cameraman Paul Daniel. The show, which streamed in October 2021 on Travelzoo’s Facebook page, showcased Ireland’s Halloween festivities as well the early post-pandemic return of international travel to Ireland. It just won a 2022 Think Global Award in the Travel category.
The program was part of a larger multi-media partnership between Travelzoo and Tourism Ireland that also included live TV coverage across the U.S.

It spotlights some of the places and personalities that make Ireland so special, as well as a top destination for the millions of Travelzoo members around the world. On a personal level, it was a welcome opportunity to get creative, once more, with my friend, Dublin-based videographer Paul Daniel -- this project was the culmination of 1000 miles covered across Ireland in the course of a week, the kind of work trip I look forward to doing again soon! "
