What would you do if you had a chance to run a pub for a weekend? Well, this is your chance to test the theory. To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, Guinness is partnering with Tourism Ireland to give one lucky winner and three friends an experience of a lifetime – by ‘
handing them the keys’ to a pub in Ireland for 48 hours!
To be in with a chance to win this unforgettable experience, wannabe publicans are invited to share a photo of them enjoying a get together with friends this St. Patrick’s Day.
The competition will see Joseph McHugh’s Pub, located along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way in Co. Clare, rebranded in the winner’s own name for the weekend. Complete with your very own Guinness Beer Expert to show you how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness; a chef to whip up great tasting beer and food menus, and a DJ to deliver good vibes - the lucky group of friends will get to curate an epic line-up for the weekend. House rules apply of course!
But that’s not all, the prize will also include a week-long (22 April – 28 April 2019) journey across Ireland. Landing in Dublin, the winner and their friends will start their adventure with rare access into the heart of the legendary St. James’s Gate Brewery, the home of Guinness. Here they will experience an exclusive Guinness immersion, including a private tour, meet the Guinness Brewers and enjoy a Guinness paired menu, designed with Irish ingredients.
Armed with their Guinness knowledge, they will then embark on a trip across the country to experience the very best of Irish hospitality, served up alongside great conversation, Irish wit and all the magic of Irish pub culture, before being “handed the keys” to help run the pub for the weekend.
St. Patrick’s Day is a uniquely inclusive celebration; and just like any pub, it plays an important role in bringing together friends. This year, Guinness and Tourism Ireland are raising a glass to the shared values of celebration, pride and friendship on St. Patrick’s Day with a global #GuinnessGetTogether.
