Santa is boarding the 12.15 train in Cork next Saturday 18th November to a six piece band and festive merriment and you can join Santa and his elves and helpers for the festive journey of music, drama and sweet treats. Tickets are available for this train with Santa direct from the Iarnródód ÉÉireann website www.irishrail.ie.
He’s coming to Midleton to launch the festive Season, turn on the Christmas lights and shine a light on the importance of Midleton & Area Chamber business communities SHOP LOCAL campaign.
After visiting Midleton Market, Santa will be inviting children to join him on Mackay Coaches on Magical Midleton Limo tours from the courthouse and there will be entertainment from Leahy’s Open Farm and local musicians there too. Up and down Midleton from Baby’s Walk, Granary Square, Market Green and My Place, there will be music, magic, entertainment, food tastings, hair beading, face painting, crafts demonstrations, henna tattoos and plenty of shopping… an old fashioned community street party launching Christmas in a magical way. The funfair will be at Market Green all day and the first day of the annual Ballymaloe Craft Fair at nearby Ballymaloe Grainstore will be open between 10.00 to 17.00 for more festive culinary treats, fun and local area crafts shopping.
This festive day of family fun and magical merriment concludes with the highlight of turning on of Midleton’s Christmas lights at 18.00 outside Midleton Courthouse. Shining a light on the message that Christmas has arrived and the Christmas shopping season has officially arrived on Midleton High Street. Music from Midleton’s male voice choir, Kilta Tones, School of Uke and Midleton Concert Band will be there too with Leahy’s farm and a DJ to complete the street party.
Midleton’s Best Dressed Children and Best Dressed Shop Window will be announced… Santa’s little helpers will be watching out for the best costumes and shops throughout the day.
