Now, with the launch of six new walking tours, which combine insight and entertainment, there’s a chance to really get under the skin of this remarkable city.
Each of the new tours, presented by Stroll, covers an aspect of Dublin’s character and history; and with small groups and larger than life guides, they provide hugely enjoyable city walking experiences.
Led by an Irish dancer and musician, the ‘Step by Step’ tour explores Irish dancing and music throughout the ages. Going off the beaten track to discover underground Gaelic bars and visit the landmarks of Irish cultural history, the tour presents an authentic experience of Irish music and dance, teaching a few steps along the way.
For those who dare, there is the ‘Dublin After Dark’ tour which invites travellers to visit the most haunted houses in Dublin, meet the medieval thief who guards his treasure in tunnels under the city streets, hear about paranormal activity in a former hospital and be introduced to some of Dublin’s most infamous characters.
Combining a stroll with a few tipples along the way, the ‘Crafted’ tour delivers a taste of eight of Dublin’s finest micro-brewed beers.
With visits to The Brew Dock and the legendary, J.W. Sweetnam’s, which is the only pub in Dublin that brews its beers on site, the tour reveals the brewing process and explains how to differentiate between the flavours of a weiss, porter or a variety of ales.
