The newly renovated bar is steeped in tradition, with the origins of Bell’s Brewery dating back to 1778 when founder John Bell operated one of the first-known commercial breweries in Belfast that helped kickstart the beer revolution in the city.

Lower Garfield Street was once known as Bell’s Lane in his honour and The Deer’s Head owners are passionate about reviving what was once the city’s thriving brewery quarter.

The iconic building has nods to its history painted across its walls, and complete with top notch Brewiks micro-brewery equipment, offers an authentic craft beer experience you can see, smell and taste.

On brew days you will be able to enjoy the aroma of the malt being mashed and the hops being added to the boil as you immerse yourself in this new experience of beer born and brewed in Belfast.

With rotating specials, an unparalleled selection of beers and a core range that includes North Star Lager, Black Bull Stout and Monkey Shaving the Goat IPA, The Deer’s Head is the perfect Belfast city centre destination for any beer enthusiast.
