The award-winning Titanic Belfast is making its Multi-Media Guide Audio tour available online for free for 90 days.
Crowned the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction, Titanic Belfast stands in the heart of Northern Ireland’s capital on the historic slipways where the RMS Titanic was built and first entered the waters of Belfast Lough.
Since opening in 2012, the iconic building has become a symbol of Belfast’s renaissance and the giant spirit of Northern Ireland, as well as the focal point for Titanic aficionados around the globe.
Now, as everyone stays safe at home, the world-class attraction is allowing guests to visit virtually to explore the story of the famous liner from the comfort of their armchairs.
A Multi-Media Guide Audio Tour, being released in three parts, went online on Thursday 30 April as part of BBC Arts’ Museum from Home Day, and alongside its story-making partner Antenna International, Titanic Belfast will be making the tour available for free online for 90 days.
Sit back and enjoy the Titanic story. Part one starts with an explanation of key points of the building’s architecture and then moves through the Titanic Experience galleries to recount the story of Boomtown Belfast’s industries, how the dream of Titanic was conceived, who sailed on the ship and the men who built her.
You’ll hear lots of fascinating facts and information exclusive only to the guide – parts two and three of which will be released later in May. Check back on titanicbelfast.com/stayhome/.
To complement the tour and help your imagination soar, you can also watch the Titanic Belfast’s playlist of videos. These videos will reveal more about Titanic Belfast and SS Nomadic, tender to the ‘ship of dreams’ and the last remaining White Star Line vessel in the world.
The 108th anniversary of the luxury liner’s tragic sinking took place on 14 April and those wishing to know how the horror unfolded can look back on Titanic Belfast’s social channels using #Titanic108 for a timeline of events after the ship struck the iceberg. Or you can catch up with an online tour re-telling the story from a character’s point of view using #ANightToRemember.
If something a little more fun is what you’re after, why not have a go at the Titanic Movie Fact or Fiction Quiz, or try your hand at a recipe provided by Titanic Belfast’s Executive Head Chef.
