New York, August 18, 2023, Tourism Ireland warmly welcomes today’s announcement by Aer Lingus of a new flight from Denver to Dublin and the reinstatement of its Minneapolis-St Paul to Dublin service. Delta airlines today also announced a new service from Minneapolis St-Paul to Dublin.
The Aer Lingus Denver to Dublin route will commence on May 17 next year and will operate four-times weekly. The Aer Lingus
Minneapolis-St Paul to Dublin service will resume on April 29, 2024, initially operating four times per week, before increasing to a daily service from October next year.
The Delta Minneapolis-St Paul to Dublin route will be a seasonal flight starting in May 2024.
The addition of these transatlantic services is very positive news and will help drive tourism from the United States to Ireland in 2024 and beyond.
Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Executive Vice President, North America and Australia/NZ, “
The announcement by Aer Lingus of a new flight from Denver to Dublin is excellent news for tourism from the Western United States to Ireland, where demand and interest in Ireland continues to grow. The re-instatement of the Minneapolis-St Paul service by Aer Lingus, and the introduction of a new service from Minneapolis – St. Paul from Delta is really exciting news for tourism to the island of Ireland.
Ms Metcalfe continued, “
As an island destination, direct, convenient and competitive access is critical to driving growth in inbound visitor numbers. Tourism Ireland is committed to working with Aer Lingus, Delta and our key trade partners to drive demand for these new transatlantic routes, and all other services to Ireland, and communicating to US consumers through our campaign activity, the great experiences and warm welcome that awaits visitors in Ireland.”
The new routes will bring to 18 the number of North American services operated by Aer Lingus, and follows the launch of flights to Cleveland, Ohio and the return of its Hartford, Connecticut service this year.
The new Delta flight from Minneapolis – St. Paul will complement the airline’s seasonal services from Atlanta and Boston and year round service from New York- JFK.
Travel to Ireland on these routes is also made easier by the fact that Dublin airport operates US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance which means visitors return to the US as domestic passengers.
