Fill Your Heart with Ireland New daily Aer Lingus non-stop service from Cleveland to Dublin
New York, May 23, 2022, Making it even easier to visit the island of Ireland, Aer Lingus has just launched a new service from Cleveland, Ohio non-stop to Dublin. Operating four-times weekly the flights will serve strong Cleveland – Ireland, business, investment, and tourism connections.
Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Executive Vice President, North America and Australia/NZ, said,
“Tourism Ireland is delighted that Cleveland and the Midwest region has new direct access to Ireland. We look forward to working closely with Aer Lingus to maximise the promotion of this service. Direct, convenient and competitive access services are critical to driving growth in inbound visitor numbers. Tourism Ireland is committed to working with Aer Lingus and other tourism interests to drive demand for this new service.
Ms. Metcalfe continued, “We have just launched a new global campaign entitled ‘Fill your heart with Ireland’. The concept is all about celebrating the different ways in which the island of Ireland fills the hearts of our visitors and of locals – and inviting potential vacationers to come and experience those for themselves. We look forward to communicating with consumers, and our trade partners in the US about the new Cleveland service, and the great experiences and warm welcome that awaits in Ireland.”
Launching its first new long-haul route in almost four years, Aer Lingus’ transatlantic bookings reflect the strong travel trends and behaviour of US consumers who are returning to Ireland and Europe in strong numbers, buoyed by the strong dollar, personal finances and the complete removal of travel restrictions.
Lynne Embleton, CEO, Aer Lingus, said: “
The addition of the new Cleveland route is a further demonstration of Aer Lingus’ commitment to develop Dublin as a hub, a key part of the airline’s growth strategy. At Aer Lingus we are seeing a 20% increase in transatlantic bookings, a strong indicator of the demand amongst US passengers for travel to Ireland and Europe, which is being met by our largest ever transatlantic schedule, delivering over 2.25 million seats this summer.
Ms Embleton continued “
At Aer Lingus we are very proud of what we have achieved over the last decade having consistently grown our North American network and we plan to continue on this growth trajectory. Dublin’s geographic position is unique and advantageous for the airline as we can fly to North America operating some of the most sustainable aircraft across the Atlantic. Not only do we serve the very popular destinations such as New York, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles, our A321neoLR aircraft allow us to provide connections to secondary cities such as Cleveland.”
Travel to Ireland is also made easier by the fact that Dublin airport operates US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance which means visitors will return to the US as domestic passengers.
