Online Platform that Connects Travelers to Personal Culinary Experiences Available for First Time Across Europe
SAN FRANCISCO - (April 26, 2018) An oyster tour from the father and daughter duo of a local seafood trading company in a coastal village in County Clare, a goat cheese tasting and farm tour in County Clare and a jaunt in Dublin City in Dublin County with a food historian are but a few of the culinary adventures travelers may experience with Traveling Spoon’s launch in Ireland in April, as part of their launch across many European destinations in 2018.
Traveling Spoon, the online booking platform the connects travelers to authentic culinary experiences, announces its expansion into the European market with destinations now including Ireland, Portugal, Iceland, Belgium, Italy, France, Greece, England, Georgia and Turkey. With Traveling Spoon, travelers in Europe now have the opportunity to connect with local, vetted hosts to learn about cultural and culinary traditions passed down through generations by sharing a homemade meal or cooking lesson in a host’s home or a food market tour. All experiences are private, and 100 percent of hosts are personally vetted with a thorough in-person trial experience.
“Our mission is to provide travelers with the opportunity to discover the world one kitchen at a time,” said Co-Founder Steph Lawrence. “Expanding our team of local hosts across Europe was the natural next step, especially since it is a region rich in culture and diversity. We’re thrilled to connect travelers to our cooking experts to experience local culture and culinary heritage firsthand.”
Select local experiences across Europe include: making traditional style Bolognese recipes with an Italian grandmother in her countryside villa, mastering traditional British recipes with a Michelin-star trained chef using local, seasonal ingredients, and taking a journey through Greek history with a hands-on foraging and cooking experience in Syros.
Traveling Spoon offers travelers the opportunity to experience in-home cooked meals, cooking classes and market tours with over 400 hosts across Asia, Africa, South America and Europe. Currently offered in 110 destinations across 40 countries, a complete list of destinations can be found here.
